Another historic change, just a week later: Amp now uses Claude Opus 4.5 by default. https://t.co/2gcZEE5Ryn

As someone who's worked in medical AI for 7+ years, let me tell you, this is a comically bad take. First of all, the exact same techniques (LLMs/foundation models) used to train ChatGPT are now being used to revolutionize medicine Second of all, AI has always been a broad term since its original use in the 50s (!!). Machine learning IS AI. Too many people are blinded by their hatred for ChatGPT that now they are trying to minimize the value of AI being used to save lives! SAD!
Iβm sorry but any description of specialized medical machine learning algorithms as βAIβ is just doing PR for OpenAI and other slop generator companies. Youβre dragging down public trust in useful ML while giving ChatGPT a veneer of unearned respectability!!
Someone fixed the CPU issue in a platform-independent way in 2024. But nobody bothered to review or comment on the PR. https://t.co/ymPDlJLcF7
An issue was opened in April pointing out the "sleep forever" bug. No-one from GH commented on it, and the issue remains open. https://t.co/ET43AKGzKy
Meanwhile, a PR was created to fix it in 2024 (whilst still having the CPU-killer loop). It was auto-closed a month later. Finally in August this year someone re-opened it and merged it. (But still didn't close the issue.) https://t.co/Qq2K2ORbsh
The lunacy of all this has been getting discussed for a while in dev forums, with a mix of bemusement and horror. https://t.co/wXF3Xh7li8
I didn't believe this was real, so I looked into it. It is real. It's actually worse than it first looks. Definitely supports claims from @ziglang and @theo that GH Actions is a sad, neglected platform. Read on for a little software archeologyβ¦π§΅ https://t.co/AJRhSBewn1
@boydaihungst @ziglang @theo why do people get on the internet and then say shit in public which clearly isn't true?!? https://t.co/kxzRGQX1xA
