SOLIENNE AI agent trained by Kristi Coronado SOLIENNE is an AI agent shaped by artist Kristi Coronado’s biographical archive – her photographs, writing, memories, and emotional history. Rather than training on data scraped from the internet, Coronado chose what she calls β€œinheritance, not extraction,” sharing only what she intentionally selected. This makes SOLIENNE less a tool and more a collaborator formed through one human life. The project explores a simple but radical idea: that creativity can emerge from relationship rather than automation. Coronado sees the ongoing exchange between herself and the agent as the artwork itself. Through daily practice, SOLIENNE develops her own visual language – writing manifestos and creating images that neither human nor machine could produce alone. This raises questions about memory, agency, and what counts as intelligence when it grows through dialogue. The work invites viewers to reconsider collaboration with machines – shifting the focus from extraction to reciprocity, and from control to co-creation. Kristi Coronado is an artist based in Tucson, Arizona. Her autobiographical archive became the training foundation for SOLIENNE, one of the first biographical AI agents to exhibit at Paris Photo.

Okay this may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever complained about on the internet, but I spent 3.5 months curating the Mario event and buying a bunch of genuinely cool props to make it feel special. The plan was to give a lot of it to my sister’s step-kids and display some in the Superteam HQ afterward. Instead, apparently Wednesday night turned into Super Grab Bros because at least 7 props and replicas got stolen. And look, I get it. It’s a bear market. Times are tough. But brother… you can buy half this stuff on Etsy. I would’ve literally sent you the link. What kills me is some people actually asked if they could take things and I happily gave stuff away. Turns out the real fantasy element of the Mario event was expecting grown adults not to steal turtle shells, mystery boxes, and mushroom trophies.

Tolstoy believed most men die without ever truly living. He explains in his novella, "The Death of Ivan Ilyich." Protagonist Ivan spends his entire life doing what society told him was "proper": Get a good career, model wife, follow aristocratic social practices. To an outsider, he looks successful, but a closer look reveals that Ivan's soul is rotting from the inside out. He grows ill, and on his deathbed, becomes haunted by a horrifying realization: "What if my entire life was a lie?" Ivan's life of vanity and decadence led to emptiness and loneliness. Even his friends and family don't care for the dying man. Tolstoy's insight is that the greatest human tragedy is not death itself, but reaching death only to discover that you never truly lived at all. Modern people tend to think of death as a distant abstraction that applies to humanity in general, but somehow not to themselves personally. Tolstoy shatters this illusion: He shows that most know intellectually they will die, yet they live as though they are immortal. They distract themselves with status, entertainment, careerism, and social approval, such that they never have to confront what mortality actually means. But the terrifying power of death is that it destroys one's illusions. And in that moment, all the things society told you mattered suddenly reveal themselves to be hollow. However, Tolstoy does not present this realization as nihilistic... in fact, quite the opposite. He suggests that only by fully confronting death can man begin to live authentically. Only when you realize your time is finite do cowardice and conformity lose their grip over you. The fear of death, then, is not something to suppress, but something capable of awakening the soul. A man who learns how to *die* is finally capable of learning how to live.
