Nitrogen fertilizer is up 30%.\n\nIn the South, 81% of farms—including 84% of small farms—didn’t pre-book fertilizer, meaning they’re now stuck paying rapidly rising prices.\n\n78% of Southern farmers say they can’t afford the fertilizer inputs they need this season.\n\n58% of farmers nationwide say they’re worse off than a year ago.\n\nFarmers in South Carolina and across the country were already struggling.
