Elon Musk’s first public mention of tunnels solving urban traffic was in a Jan 26, 2016 Hong Kong interview (around min 9):\n\n “The problem with cities is that we build cities in 3D, we see tall buildings with lots of people in each floor, but you have roads that are 2D, and that obviously just doesn’t work. \nYou’re guaranteed to have gridlock.
