  "text": "🇪🇺 DEADLY DRUG-RESISTANT FUNGUS SPREADING FAST IN EUROPEAN HOSPITALS\n\nC. auris cases surged 67% in 2023, hitting a record 1,346 - up from zero a decade ago.\n\nThe fungus clings to hospital surfaces, resists treatment, and can kill up to 60% of infected patients.\n\nIt’s now so widespread in countries like Greece, Italy, and Spain that outbreaks can’t even be traced.\n\nThe ECDC says early detection and isolation still work, but only 17 countries even track it properly.\n\nOn top of all that, no one’s writing checks to develop the drugs we actually need.\n\nSource: Bloomberg",
